How I Work

Why Coaching?

Do you want to be a better leader? Gain greater self-awareness, or challenge your thinking?  Do you need a safe space to think and to properly explore all your options?

Coaching is an investment in yourself, and you set the agenda.

The International Coach Federation defines a coach as ‘partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential’.  Doesn’t that sound good?

Why Onboarding?

As a senior executive, you’ll face multiple challenges when you step into a new organisation. It’s unlikely that you’re joining with a complete understanding of the state of the business, and ‘how things get done around here’. It can quickly feel as if you’re up against strong headwinds as you grapple with your new role AND your new environment.  If you start to feel isolated and stressed, your de-railers are more likely to emerge, and that can ultimately hamper your chance of success.

Onboarding support, from Day 1, can make a big difference. Your program is designed specifically for you, reflecting the key challenges you’re likely to face during those initial 6-12 months. And as your onboarding coach/project manager, I’ll help keep your focus on those elements identified as critical to personal, team, and business success.

First Step

Whether for coaching or onboarding, our partnership should create a safe space where you can think. It gives you the opportunity to take time out from your busy schedule, to reflect, gain clarity, and become more intentional about how you show up. If you’re thinking about working with me, our first step is an introductory chat, to help you confirm that I’m the right coach to partner with you.

Who’s the Client?

For coaching programs, I’m either engaged directly by you, or by your employer. For onboarding programs, I usually work with you and your manager to create a plan tailored for your new role. That helps align objectives, highlight potential challenges and confirm priorities.  Regardless of who is paying the coaching invoice, I work to the ICF’s principles of ethical conduct. That includes maintaining the confidential nature of information shared during our coaching conversations.

Time Commitment

Yes – you do have to make time for this. You’re investing in your own success. You KNOW that’s worth it!
